Syncing your life to your Menstrual Cycle

Syncing your life to your Menstrual Cycle

Want to sync your life to your cycle but confused about where to start? 😵‍💫 Here’s a sample calendar for a 28 day cycle 🔄 Let’s break it down 👉

Days 1-5ish: Menstrual Phase 🩸

  • This is when you’re on your period
  • You tend to be most creative and intuitive during this time period, so do things like reflecting, setting goals, and pursuing creative hobbies.
  • When it comes to physical exercise, you may be feeling more sluggish, so try things like yoga and walks instead of going your hardest at the gym.

Days 6-13ish: Follicular Phase 🌸

  • This is right after your period has ended, but before ovulation. Estrogen begins to rise giving you more energy.
  • This is a great time to try new things, meet new people, push yourself in the gym, get outside of your comfort zone.
  • You’ll probably feel more motivated and social during this time period so get outside and work on pursuing the goals you set in the first phase of your cycle.
  • Keep in mind that you’ll have less energy after ovulation, so getting ahead on things now is a good idea.

Day 14ish: Ovulation 🪺

  • Ovulation is when the egg is released. It lasts about 24 hours.
  • Many people tend to have a higher s*x drive and have their glowiest skin at this time.
  • You’re most fertile at this time (and the days leading up to it) so always be extra careful to use protection if you’re trying to avoid pregnancy.

Days 15-28ish: Luteal Phase 🥱

  • This is the time after ovulation but before your next period. Estrogen dips and progesterone rises at this time, making you more sluggish.
  • If you experience PMS or PMDD symptoms, they’ll show up around now. Give yourself grace at this time!
  • If you’re experiencing negative self-talk, keep in mind that your hormones may be playing a large part in that. Give yourself grace.
  • Focus on the details during this time instead of the big picture. Take care of the little things in preparation to relax during menstrual phase.

Keep in mind, the timing and length of your cycle and phases are totally unique to you. In order to figure out exactly when you’re going through these phases you need to know when and how long your period is, and when you’re ovulating.
